Neath Food and Drink Festival brings together families and food lovers in the heart of this market town.
Now celebrating its fourth year, the Neath Food & Drink Festival will host over 60 exhibitors at its two day event on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th October 2012 include award winning suppliers from Neath’s famous Indoor Victorian Market. The festival will be a celebration of local produce and Neath’s historic market town atmosphere. There will be lots going on for all the family including cookery demonstrations, children’s activities, produce shows, live music and community projects. Themes of cooking, nutrition, health & well being and community involvement will be evident throughout the town. Local Neath restaurants, cafe’s, hotels and bars will be hosting food & drink themed events during the festival. There will also be a programme of musical entertainment in Victoria Gardens and fitness demonstrations in Angel Square.
When you speak to the producers, the first thing that ocmes across is their passion and knowledge of the producers. Whether it is goats milk ice cream, Samosa's or sea food, long horn beef or apple juice, everything has been made by people who care passionatley about the quality and process of the things they make. By supporting these producers not only are you getting the freshest tasty offerings, you are also helping to support businesses in your local community.
For ideas and recipes on how to use these ingredients, make sure you check out the cookery demonstrations in St. David's Church on Saturday where Sian Hindle of La Creme Patisserie and guests will be demonstrating the latest recipes and techniques.
Neath Town Centre Communities First will be holding a range of activities across various locations in the heart of the town.
Bay Radio will be broadcasting live from the event over the two days and will keep everyone entertained with a mixture of music, information and competions.
Restuarants throughout the town will also be hosting special themed events on Friday evening.
